2013-2014 Roster

Captain: Katie Milligan #3

 

Katie Milligan is in her second year as head captain after an astounding run at WCVI in Kissimmee, FL, April of 2013.  She was also an assistant captain during the 2011-2012 season.  She was one of the first members of the team, joining in fall of 2010, and has played chaser her entire quidditch career.  She is unafraid of everything while on field and is able to go up against people twice her size, and strip the ball from them.   Katie went to the very first Quidcon, summer 2012, where she became a certified referee for the 2012-2013 season which allowed her to travel to various tournaments in the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic and Northeast region to ref.  She is a member of the American Medical Students Association and is part of the Bowling Green State University Honors Program  Katie is currently a senior Bio: Pre-med major and will be graduating in May 2014.

Assistant Captain: Daniel Daugherty #19

 

Daniel Daugherty, aka Dansanity is in his second year as assistant captain after helping lead the team through an outstanding run at WCVI in April of 2013. When he joined the team in spring of 2011 he was the only male and began his quidditch career as a chaser.  He is the lead scorer on the team with amazing high jumps, accuracy, speed and strength and is known throughout the quidditch community.  He attended Quidcon with Katie in summer 2012, becoming a certified referee as well as a certified snitch.  Summer 2012 Dan was also selected to be on Team USA’s reserve team.  The Eighth Man named him Sportsman of the Year for 2012 given his amazing character as well as his leadership on and off the pitch.  Other than quidditch, he is the co-director of Bowling Green State University’s Activities Organization, a resident assistant and works in Classroom Technology Services.  Daniel will be a senior Criminal Justice major in fall 2013 and will be graduating in May 2015.

Assistant Captain: Sam "Sunshine" Roitblat #29

 

Sam “Sunshine” Roitblat is entering his first year as assistant captain after being on the team for only one year. He joined the team in the fall of 2012, starting out as a chaser, and over the year switched to a seeker.  Sam is extremely quick and agile, which contributes to some spectacular grabs that most seekers are not able to make. He also bested three of the top seekers during WCVI this past spring. In the spring 2013, he attended the Mid-Atlantic Snitch Academy and received a gold star rating, which only 3 others were able to obtain. This title allowed him to snitch at WCVI. Besides Quidditch, he is a member of the Bowling Green State University’s Men’s Chorus. Sam is a sophomore with an undecided major, fall 2013 and anticipates graduating in May of 2016.

Keeper: Mike Gallagher

 

Mike Gallagher has joined the team this year as a keeper and is excited about playing the fun sport of quidditch with his new found BG Quidditch teammates.  He is looking forward to helping the team win World Cup VII this year.  Mike is a current freshm and majoring in Supply Chain Management and Business Analytics and is anticipating graduation in 2017.

 

Beater: Jenna Rindler 

 

Jenna Rindler has joined the team this year as a beater and is excited for World Cup VII.  She is currently a freshman majoring in AYA Language Arts  and plans on graduating in 2017

Beater: Cara Leach

 

Cara Leach has been on the BG Quidditch team since August 2010, one of the first members of the original founding team. Her first two years she played as a chaser, switching to beater in the 2012-2013 season.  Cara has played in both WC V and WC VI and is looking forward to keeping up BGSU's reputation from the last WC. She is also looking forward to expanding the team.  Cara is a senior Early Childhood Education major and is planning on graduating in 2015.

Chaser: Pari Yost

 

Pari Yost has joined the team this year as a chaser and is excited to prove everyone wrong about BG not being as good as last year.  She believes that BG is now going to be better than before.  She is also happy to have made so many new friends on the team.  Pari is a sophomore Broadcast Journalism major and is planning on graduating in spring 2016
